Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a liaison to management and employees on employee relations, performance management, compensation, benefit administration, staffing, diversity, legal and organizational development issues and enforcement of company policies.  Also responsible for preparing severance letters and conducting exit interviews (when necessary).
  • Manage recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel.  This includes development of job descriptions, resume analysis, interviewing, and assisting hiring manager in making decisions.  Act as liaison with advertising agencies.  Source additional recruiting options which include job boards, open house events, job fairs and employee referrals.  
  • Manage annual review process to include performance evaluations and salary increases.  This includes advising each dept. manager of employees eligible for reviews and outlining in spreadsheet format the employee's current salary and increase received in previous year.  Also responsible for providing managers with a merit increase recommendation (provided by the CFO in conjunction with the CEO) and deadline for submitting the information.  Similar process conducted for year end bonuses.     
  • Responsible for managing the company's workers' compensation program, including claims monitoring and administration, communication with the employees, managers, insurance carriers, medical personnel and lawyers.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee a staff of two.

Qualifications:

  • Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area or at least 10 years of experience.
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, work in a fast-paced environment, attention to detail, handle multiple tasks and work under time constraints is required.
  • Generally manages a group of human resources professionals.
  • Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
